Well, life is pretty crazy different to how it was a very short time ago! Our physical space is closed, but we are still here and still finding (different) ways to build community- which is needed now more than ever.
First and foremost, if you need anything (could be something delivered to your door if you’re in self-isolation, could be a friendly phone call) please contact here where there is a huge amount of volunteers right across Wellington who are keen to help. If you want to join the volunteer ranks, sign up here.
Secondly, if you’re stuck at home, there are some conveniently timed awesome webinars happening. Check out the amazing lineup at Te Tiriti Based Futures and Anti Racism. While it might not all seem explicitly related to environment, remember- the highest levels of biodiversity left on the planet are correlated, more than any other factor, with being managed by Indigenous communities. (Plus there’s a session on Environmental Racism and Te Tiriti o Waitangi that looks super interesting!)
Also, Greenpeace International are starting an online leadership course, which looks like an awesome way to upskill.
Have a look at our ‘submissions and petitions’ page and our ‘resources’ page for anything else that takes your interest, and let us know anything that should be added- it’s all constantly evolving!
We are looking into doing some online hangouts very soon! In the meantime, get in touch anytime on messenger, email (firstname.lastname@example.org), or phone (0272472918); we are here for you!!
